International Birds

Today saw the first returned Song Sparrow and there were Canada Geese overhead and along the shores of the river where the ice is starting to break up. American Robins have been occasional visitors for a couple of days. Still a few Common Redpolls coming to the feeders but they should depart soon.

Spent last week in England - same temperatures as here but windy and damp and it felt colder. No time to do serious birding but saw a good selection of the "easy" birds and were struck by what seems to be a population explosion of Magpies ...... flocks and individuals seemingly everywhere.
